Hailing from the vibrant island of Jamaica, Tena is not just a practitioner but a Christ-led wife, a devoted mother to a beloved Bullmastiff-Rottweiler mix named Belle, a cherished aunt, and the youngest of six siblings. Her journey has been one of devotion to helping individuals overcome adversities, recognize their potential, and reclaim their place in society with Christ at the core. Her Christ-led walk is anything but conventional; it’s a blend of enlightenment, humor, and scripture that challenges traditional perspectives. Tena’s unique voice resonates with strength and individuality, championing the idea that true fulfillment stems from embracing our deepest desires.

They always say it is not about who you know but about who knows you.
I've known Tena all our lives basically. We grew up together and from as early as I can remember Tena was a friend of the friendless. She was the one who would always embrace the outcast. I remember so many of these instances over the years. As teenagers when most of us were self absorbed, she would thinking about a classmate or someone at church. She would invite them over to her house to stay if they were having problems at their own home. Later on as young adults she would always be looking out for those youngsters who everyone else saw as trouble. Without prompting from anyone, she would counsel and mentor them, find opportunities for them to go to school, rest subjects, find summer jobs and anything else she saw could help them succeed. It was no surprise to me when she said she was going to study Social Work. This step only made official what she has been doing all her life. I truly believe she was born to to do this. She was born to serve.
Tena (my little miss sunshine) came into my life on a professional level which escalated beyond professional boundaries based on her joyous, cheerful and infectious personality that shone and was strongly felt whenever we converse over the telephone. Personally I find Tena to be a reliable and stable friend/colleague. Her persona is authentic, frank, respectful and unbiased when dealing with individual from all social class, age group, culture, or creed. My two favourite moments with Tena - firstly, Tena works for a company that had to interact with my organization on a daily basis in getting documentations for export shipments leaving Jamaica. It was in December that we started working together, Tena made it a priority to visit me at my office to hand deliver a Christmas gift, formally introducing herself and putting a face to the voice on the other end of the telephone call. This was such a noble gesture, but it speaks volume of her character. In December 2011, I joined the company that Tena worked and as faith would have it we were in the same department. Tena ensure she did frequent check-in throughout the day making sure I was settling to the department, understanding the organization culture and people. Overall she was very instrumental in making my transition to this department very pleasant. Working with Tena in both capacity was very rewarding (earning me a sister in the process), I believe we both learned and challenged each other to aim higher and not settle for mediocrity. Tena has an innate awareness to sense when persons around her are going through personal issues and has the ability to give advice that positively aid in remediating their situation. Above all else I love that this woman is sold out to CHRIST. Tena has opened her heart and allow Christ to take full control over all facet of her life. Standing on the sideline I am elated having the opportunity to witness this new phase of her christian journey and allowing God to pilot her life, dreams and aspirations. Thanks Tena.
Tena's remarkable contributions have profoundly impacted our International Samaritan Jamaica community and the lives of our scholars. Since team started working with us in 2020, she has counseled over 73 of our scholars, ranging in age from 6 to 24. Her ability to create a safe and welcoming space for these scholars to share their deepest secrets has been nothing short of extraordinary. Tena possesses a unique gift for making the counseling process seem effortless. Her empathetic approach and genuine care have allowed our scholars to open up in ways they never have before. It is a testament to Tena's skill and dedication that she has earned their trust and admiration. The positive changes we have witnessed in our scholars are truly inspiring. They have not only grown fond of her but have also shown significant personal growth and emotional healing. Her presence has brought about a renewed sense of resilience among them, and for this, we are immensely grateful. Tena has been invaluable to our organization. Her work has not only transformed the lives of our scholars but has also enriched our organization. We are deeply appreciative of her efforts and the impact she continues to make.
